Corsica, thanks to its Mediterranean climate, enjoy long sunny seasons. The summers are quite warm and dry, with an average of 25ºC on the coast. The most common winds are the Mistral of the northwest, which blows with great speed from the sea on Bonifacio, the Libeccio, from the southwest and the Scirocco, that blow from the southeast.
The best time to rent a boat in Corsica is from May to October, considering that the high season is in July and August.


Corsica is a beautiful sailing area and is ideal for both beginners and experienced sailors.
Regarding the different sailing areas; the east and southeast of Corsica offers the possibility of sailing in a relatively easy way, always considering for each route the different directions and forces of the wind.
On the west coast and in the Bonifacio Strait, the sailing conditions are more demanding and it is highly recommended to have sailing experience for bareboat charter in this area. Since there are only a few ports and bays protected in this area, it is possible to encounter difficult situations. A cruise around the island can be an adventure and challenge for the more experienced.

How to get there: Corsica has 4 main airports: Ajaccio, Bastia, Calvi and Figari (north of Bonifacio). You can also reach some of its six ports (Ajaccio, Bastia, Calvi, Ile Rousse, Porto-Vecchio and Propriano) by ferry from the southern ports of France and from Italy.
Documentation; Citizens of EU countries need a national identity card or a valid passport. Otherwise, a valid passports with at least six months of validity beyond your planned date of departure are required. Visas are not required for American and Canadian visitors staying in France for up to 90 days
Other important information: A valid sailing license and prior sailing experience is required for bareboat charter in France.
